The Louisana Knights of Columbus selected the St. Charles Hight School Memorial Tower as it 2014 Community Project of the Year. The tower will honor lt. Col Robert Hymel a 1964 graduate of the orginial St. Charles Catholic High School in Destrehan, and a member of the Knights of columbus. Mr Hymel surived a horrific B-52 crash during the Vietname War, only to tragically die on the morning of September 11, 2001 while attempting to save other after teh terrorist attach of the Pentagon. The tower designed to be sixty feet tall and featuring four stone crosses, the columns of hte tower will display four founding priniciples of the Knights of Columbus- Unity, Charity, Franternity and Patriotism.
